Yesterday, the federal prosecutors charged a part of a well-known Genovese crime family. Michael "Mickey Cigars" Coppola?s wife and his stepson were accused of helping the hit man jet around the country, providing him with fake IDs.

After 10 years on the run, Mafia?s hit man was caught last month, on the Upper West Side. He was found responsible for the murder of John "Johnny Cokes" Lardiere, which he committed in 1997.

Prosecutors declared that Linda Coppola and her son, Louis Rizzo Jr., will face charges related to possession of fake IDs and to harboring a fugitive man. It is also known that the couple, which was on the run in 1996, had an apartment in San Francisco. Rizzo tried to help them get to it, by creating fake IDs and is now held without bail. Linda Coppola was released on $1 million bond.

Coppola may also be charged of another murder, as he was caught on tape while talking about a weapon which was used to kill a capo. In 2005, in Brooklyn federal court, a Genovese family capo, Lawrence Ricci, disappeared while participating in his waterfront corruption trial. However, his body appeared six weeks later, in New Jersey, in the trunk of a car.

Victor Han?s wife drove off a 300-foot cliff. Their daughters were also in the family minivan. Han, 35, will be indicted on Thursday, for allowing everything to happen. He will face charges of reckless endangerment (28 months to seven years on conviction), promoting a suicide (punishable by 16 months to four years) and endangering children (a maximum 1-year sentence).

Han had pleaded not guilty after his arrest in June and stood silently by a Rockland Country jury, while prosecutor Louis Valvo announced the indictment. His lawyer, Lawrence Goldman, declared: "We're disappointed but not surprised". Han?s wife, Hejin Han, 35, died after driving the Honda Odyssey off Bear Mountain, on June 14. The children, 5 and 3, survived.

On June 14, Han drove the family to the Bear Mountain State Park. Forgetting that his wife planned to kill herself, he got out of the van so that he could take some pictures. When he turned back, he saw the vehicle move over the edge but could do nothing about stopping it. He called 911 and ran down to save his daughters. However, he could not save his wife. Han was held for five days in a psychiatric hospital.
